Euro Steady After German Unemployment Report

The number of unemployed in Germany rose by 7,000 in August following a 7,000 decline in July. Economists expected the number of jobless people dropped by 5,000 in August.



The euro held steady against its major rivals after the report. As of 3:57 am ET, the euro was trading at 1. 3261 against the US dollar, 0. 8551 against the pound, 130. 16 against the yen and 1. 2306 against the Swiss franc.
